Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials in New York arrested a Mexican illegal immigrant who sexually abused a child after being kicked out of the country five times.
According to ICE, the criminal immigrant, Raymond Rojas Basilio, 36, sexually abused an 11-year-old boy in the United States.
Rojas committed this crime after being removed from the country five times and then re-entered on an unknown date and in an unknown location, without entry by an immigration official.
The New York Police Department arrested Rojas on August 28, 2023. He was then convicted of forcibly touching the private parts of an 11-year-old victim by Kings County Supreme Court in Brooklyn on September 20, 2024. The court on sentenced to 60 days. imprisonment and six years of probation and required him to register as a sex offender.

New York ICE Execution and deletion operations Officers then arrested Rojas outside his residence in Queens on December 17.
The US Border Patrol first arrested Rojas, after three separate attempts to enter the US illegally near Douglas, Arizona, in May 2002.
Border protection Officials arrested Rojas again on January 6, 2012, at the Dennis DeConcini Port of Entry in Nogales, Arizona, when he attempted to enter the country with an Arizona driver’s license and a fake US birth certificate. A few days later, on January 11, border authorities again removed Rojas after he tried to enter the country with fraudulent documents at another port of entry in Nogales.
ICE New York Field Office Director Kenneth Genalo commented on the arrest, saying, “This criminal has demonstrated time and time again that he has absolutely no respect for the laws of our country, as evidenced by the his repeated attempts to illegally or fraudulently enter the United States.”
“As this case illustrates, it only takes one successful illegal entry to do irreparable harm to a member of our community,” he continued.
He said local “policies of non-cooperation” had prevented ICE from taking immediate custody of Rojas after his conviction by the Brooklyn court.
“However, due to the diligence of our officers, ERO New York City was able to quickly apprehend this public safety threat before it could harm any other New Yorkers,” Genalo said.
According to the release, Rojas is currently in ICE custody awaiting extradition to Mexico.
