Hurzeler says Brighton fans “dreamed” about Wembley after a huge FA Cup victory in Newcastle

Brighton’s chief Fabian Hurzeler says the southern shore fans can dream of appearing at Wembley in the FA Cup.

Seagulas overcame Newcastle in St. James to book their place in the quarterfinals, the kindness of the extra Danny Welbeck Strike.

It was a feist affair, Ai Tariq Lamptey and Anthony Gordon were sent.

But Brighton had a ride to continue and win, which means one game is now far from Wembley.

Speaking after the game, he said: “It was a very emotional game. A lot of ups and downs. It was crucial that we stayed together, we stayed calm, we tried to find solutions.

“They had a great chance that they hit the post, but then I thought we were controlling the game. The punishment was nowhere. We played with a lot of courage, we had some little chance and after admitted we showed a great reaction.

“We focused on our solutions, staying shells. In the second half we were very dominant. We suffered a little when we received a red card, but as a whole it was a great performance.

“We can only win something if we stay together and we have to focus on that. There is not much momentum in football, but we have to understand why this is at this point. It is important to stay grounded and continue to do basic things.

“They (fans) can dream, and we can work.”

Golber Welbeck got the winner when Brighton beat Newcastle in the Premier League earlier this season.

And his skillful chip to win the game reminded his top years, but the veteran striker was simply happy to win the winner.

He added: “It’s nice to come here to St. James Park, such a special atmosphere. Fans made him an amazing atmosphere – to get a winner well again.

“I feel like we were playing well. We know when we counteract Newcastle that it will be an intense game. They have some dangerous players with some great abilities, and we have to reconcile it, and we did it today and go out to the top.

“When you are on the bench, you have to analyze the game and see where you can make a difference and today we did it. In the end you see Joao Pedro fighting for running. He gave so much and I believe that it gave us the winner.”
