What does that mean to her? “‘Totally imperfect’ means on some days, you’ll lower it,” Carmel said. “You’ll have exercises, there’s dinner on the table, you’ll hug the kids a thousand times, the house will be clean and you can relax for a second.”
“The next day, everything will go out the window,” she added. “It’s a pleasure – because it may not be perfect, but that’s what life is about.”

“I tried to be perfect in every way – I failed every time because there was no such thing,” Carmel said.

When life is busy, it is normal to want to regain a sense of calmness, or at least keep the look of everything you handle easily.
“As parents, we want to look like we are together when we walk out of that door,” Carmel said. But if you stop trying to match the hectic pace of life and just accept that your current reality is not exactly together, you may feel less stressed.
“When I was overwhelmed, everything was on top of me, the stress level was high, I was on the verge of a panic attack, I just couldn’t handle it – I would sit down, I would breathe, I would take my situation.”

“My best, most tried and tested time management strategy is to wake up early,” Carmel said. “Get up early and have a little time in the morning.”

Now that their children are older and both engage in competitive sports, Carmel and her husband turn practice and games into active family time.
“My husband and I tried to play every game with the kids,” she said. In between matches, they found a way to train together – like running football with their daughter. “My husband will coach us, we will do drills and partner together,” she said.
It is normal to think that you should spend every minute of your family contact time. But taking time to exercise or cooking healthy meals benefits the entire family.
“If I’m not working well – my anxiety is high, I’m overwhelmed, I’m overworked, unhappy, unhappy, angry – my entire family will feel it.”

After her second child was born, Carmel had nightmares often because her child was in danger and she could not save both. This inspired her to be powerful enough to switch to superhero mode if needed.
Recently, Carmel has been motivated to stay strong so she can take care of mothers who have been dealing with health issues. “These are things I train now – getting so strong that I have no problem lifting her up and carrying her and holding her.”
Of course, if you want to change your appearance, that’s not a bad thing. “I love wearing a pair of jeans, I love having chisels and abs, and I’m all for that, believe me,” Carmel said. “Sometimes, that’s my motivation.”

Trying to achieve your fitness goals overnight while trying to juggle raising people and life will only overwhelm you and cause unwanted stress – and execution failure.”
“Promise, but invest in love and intention as an investment in yourself and your family,” she added. “It’s the mentality that someone needs to make it stick.”
