Emery says he wants to help Rashford to recover confidence after an impressive display in Chelsea’s victory

Unai Emery says he wants to “support” and “help” Marcus Rashford after impressing Manchester United as Aston Villa Cam from behind and defeated Chelsea at Villa Park.

Another of Villa’s loan, Marco Asensio, achieved twice in the second half while the hosts recovered from the opener Enz Fernandez to ask for a 2-1 victory.

Rashford, who came down from the bench at halftime, provided assistance for both goals, as the English striker looks like he would start his career away from Old Trafford.

Rashford looked on the left with a constant threat, and Emery found that he wanted to help the 27-year-old to regain his confidence.

“He will hope that we will be increasingly important to us.”

The Vile chief admitted that the performance in the first half against Chelsea was under a couple, but praised the players shown after a break.

Emery said, “We needed more. We a lot of admitted and not dominating matches. We started very bad today, we received the goal. We were late on our press. Then we became progressively better.

“In the second half, we played fantastic. Subs had a good impact, and we needed us because we played on Wednesday (against Liverpool) and we got tired.”

Emery added that it was vitally that Villa intensified its team in January a laptop of the window if they compete this season on three different fronts.

“We were with the need to improve our detachment,” said Spaniard.

“We want the players to compete in the top eight, the FA Cup and the Champions League.”
