Rory McIlroy overcame a six-shot deficit and a terrible time to convert to the Pebble Beach Pro-AM claim.
McIlroy began the glittering start of his third round with four birds on the front nine, before receiving it on the 15th, 16th and a couple of -pecto 18. She left him seven under the day and -15 for a week.
Shane Lowry (-15) aligned McIlroy’s 65 on Saturday, and the eagle set the tone in another as he walked on his way to the leaders.
“I felt like the time had shifted us six,” McIlroy said. “I told Harry (Diamond) literally, let’s just try to try the ball today. I feel like I didn’t really swing completely after that.
“It really landed at seven, eight, nine, 10 for us, so we play those holes on even the couple was huge. Then it began to settle and a little sheltered on that nine.
“It was nice to pick up a few birds on the way.”
The second round of the leaders of Sepp Straka (-16) saved his third round with four birds in the last five holes to hold one shot in the last day.
Justin Rose (-14) enjoyed another strong circle, and four-legged 68, putting it on one shot behind McIlroy and Lowry to set the final circuit of the blockbuster.
Scottie Scheffler ended 10 under 69 third rounds, while returning to return after an injury of the hand during cooking during cooking last month.
