Under the fire of Michael Oliver was appointed on Wednesday at the Crunch League of Champions between Barcelona and Atalanta

Michael Oliver, fresh from his controversial performance on Saturday, was named Judge for Barcelona’s Champions League match with Atalanta on Wednesday night.

Newcastle official sent Arsenal’s Myles Lewis-Skelly in Molineux to a challenge at Wolves Full-Back Matt Doherty while moving away from his own penalty area.

Oliver believed that the challenge was a ‘serious bad game’ and was supported by Var Darren England, despite the challenge that seems to have deserved a yellow card in the worst case.

Arteta baked after the game

Arsenal chief Mikel Arthta was ‘bursting’ after the game and expects a red card to be canceled without the need to complain the club.

Meanwhile, BBC Pundit Alan Shearer marked the decision “one of the worst I saw in a long time.”

Oliver abuse convicted

“We were amazed at the threats and abuse of directed towards Michael Oliver after Wolverhampton Wanderers V Arsenal of the fixture. No clerk should be subject to any form of abuse, let alone a gnus attack intended for Michael and his family in the last 24 hours.

“The police are aware and has started a series of investigations. We support Michael and all those affected and are determined to deal with this unacceptable behavior. Unfortunately, this is not the first time that the match official has been forced to deal with threats lately.”

Oliver moves toward Catalonia

Despite the weekend, Oliver is still considered one of the best premier league officials and will take over the plum duty in the middle of the week.

England will be Assistant Var for Jarred Gilletta for the same consolidated.

Barca was already automatically progressed at the 16th stage, but Atalanta was the fate of yet to be determined.
