Australia gained a decisive 10-0 lead in the multi-format Women’s Ashes 2025 after a rain-affected six-run win on the DLS method in the second T20I in Canberra. The win not only sealed the streak for Australia but extended their unbeaten run to six straight Ashes triumphs. With a clean sweep in sight, the Aussies are now focused on maintaining their dominance in the remaining games.
Grace Harrisone of Australia’s top performers, expressed her desire for a 16-0 rout in the ongoing series. Speaking to BBC TMS, the dynamic all-rounder emphasized her determination to ’embarrass’ the England side, acknowledging their competitiveness as she looked to the clearing.
“White would be outstanding. England beat us in the last series. For me it’s a defeat, a draw is boring. But 16-0, that would be very, very good if we could embarrass this England team because they are actually a very competitive team and they have some really good players among them,” Harris said.
Her comments come as the Australians prepare for the final T20I in Adelaide on Saturday and the four-day Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, which starts on January 30 and carries four points. Harris played a key role in Australia’s win in Canberra, smashing an explosive 35 off just 17 balls to propel her team to a challenging total of 185/5.
Despite Australia’s dominance, England had moments where they could have turned the series around. They failed to chase down 181 in the second ODI and in the second T20I they pushed Australia to the final before rain sealed victory for the hosts. These missed opportunities highlighted the fine differences in a competition normally controlled by Australia. Since the inception of the multi-format Women’s Ashes in 2013, no team has achieved a complete clean sweep. In the last series on Australian soil in 2022, England failed to win a single match but earned four points through two washouts and a drawn Test.
