Tottenham are reportedly exploring the possibility of beating Manchester United transfer of Lecce left back Patrick Dorgu.

The talented young Danish international has shone in Serie A and it’s no surprise that there seem to be many clubs interested in him at the moment.

Manchester United and Napoli are among Dorgu’s suitorsbut it could happen that another club enters the equation now.

“What is he doing?!” Which former Liverpool star says he was prepared to “kill” Luis Suarez after training ground incident?

That club is Tottenham, according to a report from Give me sportswho state that it makes sense that they could have an advantage in the race for Dorga due to United’s poor finances at the moment.

Dorgu appears to have been the subject of Spurs’ admiration for some time, according to the report, and the north Londoners would do well to try to land him as they certainly need to strengthen their squad this January.

Both United and Tottenham are having really bad seasons by their standards, so it makes sense that both teams seem to be in the market for new signings this winter.

Dorgu could look at both clubs and wonder if he would be right to join them as they are now, but at the same time it would be difficult to turn down offers from the Premier League.

The 20-year-old is also certainly good enough to have a really positive effect on both sides, perhaps breathing new life into their respective campaigns.

Dorgu seems ideal for Ruben Amorim’s winger system and would also fit in well with Ange Postecoglou’s demanding style of play.

THFC need something to smile about at the moment, so it will be interesting to see if they can spring a nasty surprise on their rivals here.
