Manchester United are currently struggling to find buyers Brazilian midfielder Casemiro and may have to lower his asking price of £30m, CaughtOffside he understands.
Sources close to the situation have stated that there is a very real possibility of Casemiro staying with Man Utd until the end of the season unless they are more realistic with their demands.
Despite the connections with Besiktas, CaughtOffside they were told that the Turkish club is not currently considering this deal, and the only concrete interest is currently coming from clubs in the Saudi Pro League.
One problem with Casemiro is his high salary it also means European clubs are reluctant to move for him, with Saudi Arabia looking like the most realistic destination for him unless he also lowers his demands.
It is very clear that United need to sell in January if they are to afford new signings as well, so offloading high-earning players like Casemiro makes sense as a priority.
The 32-year-old has largely fallen flat during his time at Old Trafford, so there is little reason for Ruben Amorim to keep him around for longer.
Casemiro was once one of the best midfielders in world football, enjoying a hugely successful career at Real Madrid.
Now, though, he’s had his best for a while and it seems like MUFC made a big mistake signing him when they did.
It remains to be seen whether a solution can be found in January, but fans will no doubt be hoping that the sale of Casemiro is completed, freeing up the club to do other business.
For now, though, the feeling is that Casemiro’s chances of staying for a few more months have only increased.
