‘Unlawful DEI-motivated’ workplace discrimination to be eliminated by Trump’s new acting EEOC chairman

“Consistent with the president’s executive orders and priorities, my priorities will include eliminating unlawful racial and sex discrimination motivated by DEI; protecting American workers from anti-American national origin discrimination; defending the biological reality and gender binary and related rights, including women’s rights in single-sex spaces at work,” Andrea Lucas said in a press release sent to Fox News Digital on Tuesday.

Lucas was appointed to the EEOC as a commissioner in 2020 under the first Trump administration and has served in that role ever since. The EEOC is the only federal government agency authorized to investigate and sue private companies and employers for employment discrimination.

“I am honored to be chosen by President Trump to lead the EEOC, our nation’s leading civil rights agency that enforces federal laws against employment discrimination,” Lucas said of his appointment. “I look forward to restoring it to equality application of labor civil rights laws for all Americans. In recent years, this agency has remained silent in the face of multiple forms of widespread and overt discrimination.”

Trump signed a series of actions and executive orders Monday after being sworn in as the nation’s 47th president, including those related to diversity, equity and inclusion, better known as DEI programs.

“The Biden administration forced illegal and immoral discrimination programs, called”diversity, equity and inclusion” (DEI)in virtually every aspect of the federal government, in areas ranging from aviation security to the military,” states Trump’s executive order to end “radical and wasteful” DEI programs.

“This ends today,” the executive order says. “Americans deserve a government committed to serving all people with equal dignity and respect, and to spending valuable taxpayer resources only to make America great.”

“Our labor civil rights laws are a matter of individual rights,” Lucas said. “We must reject the twin lies of identity politics: that justice is measured by group outcomes and that civil rights exist solely to redress harms against certain groups.”
