President Donald Trump’s youngest sonBarron Trump is receiving praise online for shaking hands with former President Joe Biden and former Vice President Kamala Harris at his father’s inauguration on Monday.
“Barron Trump just shook hands with Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. This kid is going to be our president one day. Bet on it,” conservative Nick Sotor said. posted to X of the exchange.
The youngest first son shook hands with Biden and Harris shortly after his father was sworn in as the 47th president of the United States. The 18-year-old NYU freshman took part in a handful of commencement festivities on Monday, including attending a church service at St. John’s that morning, as well as in the opening parade later in the day.
Conservatives and other social media commentators praised Barron Trump on X, formerly Twitter, and TikTok for the handshakes, speculating that he might one day launch a political career, while others pondered what the first son said to Biden during the quick exchange.

Others joked on social media that Barron’s whisper “forgot to forgive himself” by shaking hands with Biden.
Barron Trump also attended the inaugural parade later that day, where he received cheers from Trump supporters as the first child was broadcast on the jumbotron at Capital One Arena.
“And then I have a very tall son named Barron. Has anyone heard of him?” President Trump told the crowd as the arena camera panned to Barron.

Trump’s youngest child waved to the crowd as his supporters cheered and cheered, before raising his fist like his father did after his first assassination attempt in July. Barron also urged the crowd for more applause before his father praised him for his efforts to rally the youth vote while on the campaign trail.

“He knew the youth vote. You know we won the youth vote by 36 points,” Trump said, praising him for encouraging him to join podcasts while on the campaign trail to reach younger voters.
Trump began his first day in office by signing at least 42 executive orders, memoranda or proclamations, delivered three separate speeches and answered about an hour of questions from the media.
