Terence Crawford got upset today, reacting to Canelo Alvarez downplaying his record by saying he was just fighting one “good” opponent during his 17-year professional career, Errol Spence, after he suffered a terrifying car accident in 2019.
Canelo seems to have mixed feelings about giving an unrealized, unproven fighter like Crawford a chance to fight him. Terence never fought any of the assassins at 147 or 154.
It’s understandable that Alvarez is attacking Crawford, who has a resume that is deprived of quality victories because it’s true. He’s an example of how fighters can float through the divisions, win titles against weak opposition and then call up a popular fighter for a payday. There is a system for this. What Crawford did in winning four championships is no different than this Adrien Broner made to achieve the same feat.

– Israel Madrimov – 154
– Jeff Horn – 147
– Thomas Dulorme – 140
– Ricky Burns – 135
Canelo wouldn’t begrudge Crawford if he at least did that, and that’s not asking much of him. King Canelo would be right to insist that Crawford put his soft skin in the general population at 168 to mix it with apex predatorsBenavidez, Morrell, Osleys Iglesias, Christian Mbilli and Diego Pacheco.
The four-division Crawford was hurt by Canelo’s precise truth, but all he could respond was that he “always took pleasure in making” his opponents “nothings.” But when they were scoundrels when he fought them, what does that say about Crawford?
Alvarez (62-2-2, 39 KOs) revealed the truth about Crawford’s career. He has only beaten one good fighter, Spence, and that was after he was physically injured in a car accident in 2019. Once you get past the Errol win, there is no one on Terence’s resume that you could call a good fighter. Either they were shot when Crawford was fighting them or they’ve been B level their whole career.
“Lol that’s crazy! Every fighter I’ve fought isn’t good, but one? Noted! Just remember what you said because I’ve always had the joy of making somebody look like nobody’s business,” said Terence Crawford on Xreacting to Canelo Alvarez saying he only beat “one good fighter” in Errol Spence during his 17-year professional career.
“I respect Terence Crawford, but he’s only won one big fight. If you see his record, he just beat a good fighter. Besides, I don’t think he beats any big fighter like Spence,” Canelo Alvarez said in an interview with TMZ Sport.

Turki Al-Sheikh should tell Crawford that he needs to beat these three fighters to earn a fight against Canelo:
I would agree with Turki if he insisted that Crawford run this little challenge to earn Canelo golden parachute money for retirement. I mean, isn’t that how it’s done in the NFL and NBA? You play with the best teams and go to the playoffs and championship games to earn a chance at the grand prize. Crawford is trying to take a shortcut to the gold, and I can’t respect that. It sets a bad example for others to follow, knowing they can skate through their careers, picking and choosing vulnerable prey to get that magical retirement paycheck.
