What about all the videos you posted? They might be vacation vlogs, horror movies, or light-hearted memes, but you’ve probably worked hard on them, and it would be a shame to lose them.
To be clear, according to the ban, existing users will be able to use TikTok; you won’t get any software updates. So if you want to download videos for safekeeping, you don’t have to be under the gun to do it by Sunday. Again, TikTok’s lawyer told the court that “it will be dark” on Sunday if the ban is not lifted … no one knows what it means.
You have to download every video you published on the platform. You can also download videos of other creators if they make the videos public and set privacy settings that allow users to download their videos. If you follow our steps below and don’t do that check the local storage option, it is possible that the developer has restricted the sharing permissions.

Save TikTok Videos to Your Phone
For many people, TikTok is a mobile experience: They watch, create, and upload videos entirely with their phones. If you are the first mobile TikTok creator, then the videos you shot can be saved somewhere on your phone. But maybe you’ve changed phones, or deleted old local videos to make room. If your videos are only stored in the TikTok cloud, you can download them all to your phone.
It is easier to download videos to your computer than to transfer them to your phone. There are additional steps on mobile, so if you have a lot or hundreds of videos to back up, maybe follow the instructions below that explain how to back up those videos to your computer.
Here are the instructions for iPhones and Android devices:
Go to any TikTok video. For your own videos, click the three dots in the upper right corner of the screen. For videos made by other producers that are available for download, click the share button like an arrow in the same place.
A list of gray icons will appear at the bottom of the screen. Click the one it says Save Video.
A percentage reading will appear on the screen, indicating that the program is processing the video. This usually goes very fast, so you may not see it, but it depends on the speed of your connection.
Then, a list of shares will appear. Go right and click the three dots. Here, you can choose the email option to send the file yourself as an attachment, or upload it to a cloud storage like Google Drive. There will also be more options depending on your smartphone’s software. Look for any options that allow you to save video locally.
