If Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury Bore should fight, says former world champion George Groves.
Joshua has not been hopped since September last year, when his offer was to become a three-time worldwide list in the heavyweight category, she ended up with a demolished defeat of the fifth round of IBF Daniel Dubois.
Last year, Fury lost two decisions about undefeated and still united champion Oleksandar Usyk, and announced retirement in January.
Although he regularly released his training recordings, which prompted speculation about a potential return.
Dillian Whyte, cleaned to return to boxing after a failed drug test, decided to box Moses Itaum on August 16, instead of following a motion of a Rovenian with AJ. This leaves Joshua without a clear option for his next fight.
As for the former world champion and boxing expert George Groves, there is only one selection of Fury and Joshua should make.
“If I was any guy, I would just fight each other and that’s it. I wouldn’t bother with any other fight. I’m sure the money is great and that, but who will pay for the nose that any guy doesn’t fight?” Groves said Sky Sports.
“Just save it now, fight each other against each other without any mileage, no more risks. Things go wrong at the camp or even on a fighting night. Both were beaten. Fury hasn’t won well for a long time. Just fight each other.”
The British heavy weights were longtime rivals, and Groves believes their rough match will finally happen.
“There must be a number that makes it worth both. Maybe they just wait for that number,” he said. “You do not need to announce that fight now if that doesn’t happen until October.
“That fight will be glued. He had surgery, Joshua and Fury ran. I’m pretty sure he’ll box in September, October, a rematch next year.”
But that would require anger to get out of retirement. This did not confirm, and his promoter Frank Warren said the decision remains in balance.
“Whether he will come back or not, I have no idea. It will be his choice. He trains tiring, he is constantly in the gym. This is something he thinks he needs to do, it helps him in his bipolar,” Warren said said Sky Sports. “It’s in a really good place at the moment.
“He enjoys the fruits of his efforts, the hard work he has invested over the years. He has earned a lot of money, he should not do it for the money. If he does so, it is because he is a true combat man and that is what to do. But he will make that decision.
“Other things happen in his life. But if he wants to do it, he will do it.”
