Joe Cordina believes that #1 himself will win #2 Abdullah Mason when the next fight for the empty WBO light title. The World Boxing Organization ordered Mason (19-0, 17 Kos) and Noakes (17-0, 15 ko) to start negotiations for the title fight they took away from Keyshawn Davis last week for missing weight.
Mason is seen as a future star at 135, and is expected to facilitate the work of inexperienced Noakes. For Cordina to be correct with his prediction, Noakes would have to be a much better fighter than fans watch him as.
Former IBF Super Featherweight Cordnia (17-1, 9 ko) champion wants to fight Noakes if he gets his hands on the WBO light title. Joe, 33, missed the fight with the champion in the lightweight category of WBC, Shakur Stevenson last October, when he originally from New Jersey suffered an injury to his hands, forcing him to withdraw.
It would be Cordina’s chance to renew his career after the eighth defeat of who against Anthony Cacace last year in May 2024. Cordina will fight the Jaret Gonzalez Quiroz (17-1, 13 KOS) in the 10th round, July 5, at the Manchester Arena in England, next month.
“Now that he’s fighting for the world title, I believe he could probably win that so comfortably if he gets tactics in the night,” Joe Cordina told for Boxing news About his belief that Noakes himself can beat Abdullah Mason when fighting for the empty WBO light strap. “Then, it will be a big fight for Britain like for the world title.”
Cordin’s prediction of nokes beat the Freemason “comfortably” it sounds wacky and there is no sense. On paper, this is an early Mason victory within four rounds. At best, nokes will reach the sixth if Abdullah is conservative as in his last fight, and again on June 7th a veteran who pierced the power of Jeremia Nakathil. Mason stopped him in six rounds. He had to take time with Nakathil because he had power at the level of anyone in the division. Noakes is too limited to last as long as Nakathila.
“Obviously, first of all, I have to do my job in three weeks (against Jaret Gonzalez Quiroz 5 July),” Cordina said. “Yes, it could be a big fight in the UK (against Noakes). He had to do his part and I have to do his part,” Cordina said when he asked about his interest in potentially confronted with Nokes for the WBO Light Type on Card 5 V 5. “
As Cordina was inactive, it would not be a shock if Quiroz beat him next month, because Joe comes from a 14-month release after his knockout loss to Cacace. Moreover, Cordina will soon turn 34 and is no longer a spring chicken. Age and mileage on his pounds from his strenuous fights against Cacace, Edward Vazquez and Shavkatdzhon Rakhimovi will get too much out of him. These were Cordina’s last three fights.
“At the moment, it’s a fantasy. They (Noaks and Mason) have not reached an agreement to fight. We do not know how much time before that fight will happen. So, by then I could have two fights,” Cordina said.
It sounds like Cordina lives in the clouds, dreaming of a situation that is believed to be no chance of happening. The reality is that Noakes is likely to lose Abdullah Mason badly in defeat, and Cordina will knock him out of the 24-year-old Mexican fighter Quiroz. His career will be in the mud, and there will be nothing he cannot get out of it. Cordina does not see things for what they really are.
