West Indies announces the first bilateral series T20I against Nepal in September


Crickket West Indies (CWI) officially posted a schedule for the historic international T20 series with three matches against Nepal, which will be held in September in Sharjah. West Indies and Nepal will play three T20i games in its first ever bilateral series, which will be held in a neutral place.

West Indies are currently on a tour of Ireland for the T20I series with three matches, and the introductory match has been abandoned due to rain. Nepal are in Scotland for the T20I three-series with the Netherlands. The World T20 World Cup champions took fifth place on the T20I rankings, while Nepal was placed in 18th place.

CWI described the upcoming T20I series against Nepal as a “historical” event and responsibility is to contribute to the global spread of the game. In an official statement, CWI emphasized that the series is more than only international competition.

Nepal was supposed to host West Indies in the first ever bilateral series T20I

West Indies and Nepal will meet in the T20I series with three matches 27, 28 and 30 September. Nepal are official hosts despite the matches that took place at a neutral place in Sharjah. The series will be held directly in front of the Nepal Campaign in the T20 T20 World T20 World Cup this year.

Nepal recently secured two victories over the Netherlands and one across Scotland in the Liquid ICC World Cup League 2. They also approached the draw of a record chase of 324 against Scotland, closely fell for just a few rides.

Cricket West Indies said they plan to present a competition team for a series. However, with the Indian test series started on October 2, some key players, including the captain of the white ball Shai Hope and Pacer Alzarri Joseph, who just returned to the test exhibition, may not be available for T20I against Nepal.
