Looking at Japan’s Naoya ‘Monster’ Inoue!

Let’s look at the world champion of Japan with four Division Naoya ‘Monster’ Inoue, who is the current IBF, WBC and WBO world champion Super Bantamweight, and perhaps the best pounds for pounds in the world.

Inoue’s amateur record was 75-6 before becoming a professional in May 2012, throwing out the Filipine Crison ‘but the devotional’ Omayao, 16-4-1, in four rounds of eight rounds scheduled.

In his fourth fight, he won the title of Japanese light flying title by defeating Ryoichi Taguchi, 18-1-1. In his fifth fight, he won an empty light light title of Oriental and Pacific boxer Federation, stopping the Filipin ‘Jerson’ Smooth operator ‘Mancio, 18-3-3, in five rounds.

In April 2014, Inouue won his first world title when he stopped the Mexican champion of WBC World Lightweight Adriana ‘Big Bang’ Hernandez, 29-2-1, in six rounds in his sixth fight. He made the title defense.

In December, he moved, winning his second World Division title, knocking out Argentina WBO World Champion in the Super Flying category of Omar ‘El Huracan’ Narvaez, 43-1-2, in two rounds. He made seven defense of the title.

In May 2019, he won his third world division title, knocking out the IBF World Bantamweight champion from Manny Rodriguez, 19-0, in two rounds.

In June 2022, he added WBC World Bantamweight Title, stopping Nonnan Donaire, 42-6, in two rounds.

In December, he added the WBO world title in the category, knocking out Paula’s ‘Baby Face Assassin’ Butler, 34-2, in eleven rounds in his sixth defense at Bantam Category.

In July 2023, he moved and stopped WBC and WBO Super Bantam champion in the Philadelphia Stephen category ‘Scooter’ Fulton, 21-0, in 8 rounds, winning his fourth world title.

He added the title of IBF in his next fight, throwing out the Philippine ‘Marlon’ Nightmare ‘Tapales, 37-3, in ten rounds.

In his fourth defense in May 2025, he stopped Ramon ‘Dinimita’ Cardenas of San Antoni, 26-1, in eight rounds. He made his record of 30-0 with 27 stops and 19 total title defenses. At the age of 32, he fought four times in the US, once in the UK, and twenty-five times in Japan.
