Cristiano Ronaldo said he would not participate in the upcoming introductory expanded club World Cup, although he found that “some teams reached” Captain Portugal.
Ronaldo, whose contract with the Saudi Pro-Liga al-Nassr expires at the end of June, has encouraged speculation that he may compete in a tournament in the United States starts next week-when he posted a cryptic message of the social media that read “This Chapter is almost” after the final match of Al-Nassr.
Reports suggest that the rich public investment fund (PIF), the main investor in the Saudi Pro League, negotiated the offer to “convince Ronald to stay and play”, with Al-H-Hilal and performing in the club World Cup possible option for Ronaldo.
However, the 40-year-old does not seem to be in the competition, though, forward, attracting the interest of numerous competitive clubs.
Speaking on the eve of the finals of his league country against Spain on Sunday night in Munich, Ronaldo said: “I will not be at the club’s World Cup.
“Some were addressing me. Some made sense and others didn’t, but you can’t try to do everything. You can’t catch every ball.”
The attacker joined Al-Nassra in 2023 from Manchester United after the abolition of his Old Trafford agreement.
His future remains unclear, but the five -time winner of the Balloon D’Or, who scored a winner for Portugal on Wednesday in a 2-1 victory against Germany, revealed that the decision was “almost final”.
In his two years in Saudi Arabia, Ronaldo scored 99 goals in 111 appearances for Al-Nassr, including 35 times in 41 matches in his last term.
