The end of the third last season was a higher achievement for Manchester City since winning the title

Pep Guardiola suggested third place last season for Manchester City represented more achievement than winning the Premier League title a year before.

City hit numerous injuries to key players, especially Rodrod, Erling Haaland and John Stones, and their hopes in the fifth consecutive success of the title quickly hit Buffers.

Their goal after that was to end in the top five and secure a place in the Champions League in the next season, the feat they achieved on the last day of the season.

In conversation with ReutersGuardiola rejected the idea that the season was a failure and emphasized the struggle with which the struggle they faced with faced.

The club is close to the completion of the signature of Tijjani Reijnders from AC Milan, while Lyon Playmaker Rayan Cheke also states that they are on their wish list.

If the two contracts collapse, Reijnders and Cherka will be replaced by Kevin De Bruyne, whose contract has not been renovated and potentially Jack Grealish, who should be left out of the World Cup City Club.

Asked what he wanted to get out of the summer competition, he added, “Play well. Create a good vibe, a good team spirit … Try to get new players to bring us the energy we need to rebuild the team. And in the end we can lift trophies.”
