Spain survived an extremely late intimidation to beat France 5-4 in the unforgettable semi-finals of the League of Nations, booking its place in Sunday’s finals.
It was a match that had everything, a stunning toy game, defensive chaos and an almost impossible attempt to return.
Men Luis de la Fuente were simply overwhelming most of the night, cutting open France on so many opportunities, especially from the irresistible Lamina Yamal and Nico Williams.
Still, they were made to sweat because a rush from France in the second half converted a 5-1 grade into a nail finish.
Spain ran into a two -goal lead in the middle of the first half. Nico Williams opened scoring in the 22nd minute by hitting the network of the net after a smart game from Yamal and Mikel Oyarzabal.
Just three minutes later, Oyarzabal was amazed by Mikel Merino to double the advantage with a clinical low finish.
France, stunned and slow in response, was fortunate to not recognize a third before the break. But the Spanish dominance continued after re-launching, and by the 67th minute they were 5-1 ahead.
Yamal, only 17, but playing with a veteran calm, coldly disgusted the sentence for the third Spanish after being demolished by Adrien Rabiot.

Pedri then added a fourth with a sensitive ending after a high ball from Williams, before Yamal grabbed his second – and fifth Spain – a neat end after a smart passage of Pedro Porro.
France finally reacted through the punishment of Kylian Mbappe just before the trace of the clock, briefly hinted by the revival. However, with a score of 5-1 and 30 minutes, little believed that this was possible.
Enter Rayana Cherrkin.
Lyon Playmaker launched France in his life a stunning volley of 25 meters to achieve 5-2, before turning his dangerous cross into a Spanish defender Daniela Vivian in the 84th minute.
France smelled the blood and poured forward, and in the 93rd minute, Cherka blinded again, delivering the precise cross for Randal Muani to head home, reducing the deficit to 5-4. From 5-1 down, France was within a touch distance.
But Spain kept it further.
Despite the unbelievable last minutes, De La Fuente managed to get rid of the late storm, confirming the place in the finals and further subjugating their credentials as the most exciting attacking force in Europe.
For France and Didier Deschamps it will be a night of painful thinking. Their defensive fragility was brutally exposed, although the combat spirit shown in the last quarter would offer some comfort.
Randal for 5-4 !!!
