The town of Bengaluru was in a night with anticipation as Royal Challengers Bengalur (RCB) acquired their virgin Indian Premier League (IPL) title, By defeating Punjab Kings with six rides in an exciting final At Narendra Stadium, Modi in Ahmedabad on Tuesday, June 3rd. The return of the team was expected to encourage cheerful scenes, and a large open bus parade planned to celebrate the historic victory. However, these celebrations are abruptly limited, and thousands of fans leave disappointed while the long -awaited parade through the heart of the city was canceled.
The primary reason for cancellation is a serious congestion of traffic expected in central Bengalur. The city, which is already known for its dense traffic, has made even more difficult to move due to the influx of fans and celebratory atmosphere. Bengalur traffic police, after estimating the situation, issued an official advice that confirms that the open bus parade will not happen as originally planned.
The parade was supposed to start from the iconic Vidhan Soudha, and ended up at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, where the team was supposed to be desirable. However, given that the central business district (CBD) has already experienced heavy traffic, the authorities have decided that the parade procedure will only aggravate congestion, disrupt public movement and pose security risks.
In her notification, traffic police advised Bengalur to the public to avoid roads around Vidhan Soudha and Chinnaswamy until 8:00 pm, stating the scheduled function of the flicit of the RCB team at the stadium. The consultation also emphasized the lack of parking space in the area and encouraged fans to use public transport or metro instead of passenger vehicles.
The cancellation caused a disappointment among the massive Fanbase RCB, who was waiting for 18 years for this moment. Many looked at the open bus parade as a suitable tribute to the perseverance and success of the team. Central MP Bengaluru PC Mohan criticized the government for poor planning, saying that the city had enough time to prepare for such a significant event and that the celebrations should have felt like a festival, not as an inconvenience.
Instead of a parade, RCB will now hold the Felicitation event at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium from 5pm to 6pm. The entrance to the stadium is limited only to ticket or pass owners. Before the stadium event, the players will be acquainted with Chief Minister of Karnatak Siddaramaiah In Vidhan Soudha, then continue directly to the place.
Fans without tickets will have to agree on watching a celebration on television or online, as access to the stadium is firmly regulated. The decision of the government, although she disappointed many, was made in the interest of public security and to prevent the border throughout the city.
