The World No 361 Lois Boisson continued her French Open Cinderella story about the stunning Mirri of Andreeva to reach the semifinals for his debut.
The 22-year-old has already sent shock waves around Roland-Darros with an amazing American pegulo to make a quarterfinals, and she continued her extraordinary shape by throwing up the sixth seed of Andrea 7-6 (8-6) 6-3.
Boisson’s only real claim of glory before this year’s tournament was a Britain’s player, Harriet Dart, complained in a judge, saying “tell her to wear deodorant”.
But on Wednesday afternoon, she came to the smell of roses after a famous victory in the French capital.
It was an emotional victory for Boisson, which was to make his debut in Paris last year just to suffer a serious knee injury two weeks before the tournament that held her out of action for nine months.
Boisson wasn’t even sure he would get Wildcard, and the ranking fell so low.
Boisson will take over Kokoswho passed her biggest test as she broke through the journey next to her colleague American Madison Keys to reach the semifinals.
Skirna match with combined 101 unsettled errors and 14 interruptions of service ended 6-7 (6-8) 6-4 6-1 in favor of the world no. 2.
“Maddie was playing well, she hit the ball so quickly and so low, so I was just trying to fight for every point,” said Gauff, a runner at Roland Garros 2022.
“I knew I had to run today and as soon as the ball came, to punish her for that.
“That means a lot, go through this difficult match. I’m very happy to go through and be in the semifinals again. Today I will enjoy this and be ready for tomorrow’s match.”
Gauff did not drop the set before as she quietly passed through the friendly side of the draw.
But in the nervous first placed on both sides of the net, Gauff has canceled the 4-1 deficit to force the placed point at 5-4, just to take him to the cash register Keys won.
Gauff increased 4-1 in the second, but found herself tied, before a break and took the match in the decision.
The trust is exhausted from the Australian Open Champion KEYS, while Gauff finally placed his service, creating nine double mistakes in the first two sets.
The passage down the line brought three points, and the 21-year-old was enthusiastically howling when Keys went for a long time, giving her victory in two hours and 11 minutes.
