Leeds United reportedly investigates the possibility of signing Newcastle United goalie Nick Pope as they prepare for living in the Premier League.
According to the report from Daily post officeThe whites identified the Pope as a potential goal of summer transmission as part of their efforts to strengthen the key areas of the team.
After securing the promotion from the championship, Leeds is determined to avoid another short stay in the top flight, and strengthening the goalkeeper’s position appeared as one of their main priorities, Especially after the bad performances of Illan Mesliera.
Because manager Daniel Farka wants to build a solid spine for the team, an experienced and proven Premier League goalkeeper like Pope could be a vital addition.
The Pope is the goalkeeper of the first election since his arrival from Burnley 2022.
However, his future in St. James is now uncertain, because Newcastle continues to follow Burnley’s highly rated bullet with a hit by James Trafford.
The Magpies initially agreed to bring Trafford in last August, and a successful move for a young English goalkeeper this summer could open the way to the Pope’s exit.
Despite being under a contract until June 2026, the Pope can be considered excess demands if Newcastle Secure Trafford and focus transferred to long -term renewal.
This potential opening was warned by several clubs, and Leeds realized that he was one of the most interesting sides.
The Pope brings not only the experience of top level, but also an international generator. His commanding presence, the ability to stop shooting and the Know-How Premier League would make it ideal suitable for the newly promoted side with the aim of establishing himself in the division.
Any potential contract would depend on the movements of Newcastle on the transfer market and on the financial flexibility of Leeds.
Leeds is too interested in the move for Manchester City Star James McATEE This summer.
