Lazio returns former Chelsea manager Sarri

Lazio returned Maurizia Sarri as a manager – one year after he resigned in the post.

Sarri, 66, resigned as Lazio coach in March 2024. After almost three years.

Lazio finished seventh in the 2023-24 series A after finishing second in the previous season. Sarri is replaced by Marca Baroni.

“Maurizio Sarri returned home. His return is a choice, belief and vision,” said club president Claudio Lotito in a statement.

“We want to continue to interrupt the road with him, aware that we can bring enthusiasm, identity and ambition together. Welcome to our home commander.”

Sarri managed a large number of clubs and spent a year in charge of Chelsea – winning the Europa League 2019.

He won Serie A in 2020 during his one season in charge of Juventus.
