The World Cup double winner Glenn Maxwell has announced retirement from the Krixket, but will continue to play T20I for Australia.
The versatile, nicknamed “Big Show” because of his destructive, big hit, was part of the Australian Side in the World Cup in 2015 and 2023.
Their latest triumph two years ago included his sensational, undefeated double hundred in a group stage over Afghanistan.
Pretty hitting one leg while badly suffering from cramps late in his scams, Maxwell saved Australia with 91-7, and the sensational 201 did not disappear 128 balls – widely considered the biggest goals of all time.
Australia would eventually beat 19 balls for a reservation, booking its place in the semifinals before defeating India in the finals. It was also part of their side in 2021, the T20 World Cup.
Maxwell’s pension leads to the end of a 13-year-old format, and the 36-year-old has achieved 3,990 runs and took over 77 Wickskets over his 149 caps.
His 126.70 hitting shocks is the highest in the history of the ODU among any dough that has achieved at least 2,000 running.
Announcing the news o Last word Podcast. Maxwell said, “I think it’s time to start planning people in my position, having a crack and trying to make that place for the 2027 World Cup.
“I said (President of the selector George Bailey) just there:” I don’t think I won’t do that. “
“I hope they get enough lead where I can have success in that role.”
Maxwell’s retirement from ODIS is followed by teammates David Warner, Steve Smith and Marcus Stoinis in the 2023 World Cup.
