Barcelona Deco chief claimed that Wonderkid Lamine Yamal can have an impact similar to Lionel Messi in the years to come.
Blaugrana has already sealed perhaps the most important signing of his summer, providing a new six -year contract for the Spanish star, who will remain with the club until 2031.
At only 15, Yamal debuted the first team and has since received 106 appearances.
His impressive contributions helped Spain to raise the European Championship and earned him Golden Boy and Kopa Trophies, who were awarded to the world’s best young player.
Yamal was also a central figure in four wins in Barcelona El Clasico over Real Madrid this season.
Such achievements encouraged a comparison with the legendary character of Barcelona Messi.
Deco said, “Lamin is Lamin. Leo is Leo. Leo was the best player in the history of this club, for me he is the best player in history.

“Everyone is becoming crazy when they see Lamine playing football, you would pay him to look at the stadium, he is special and he wanted to stay because he believes in the project. He deserves a improved salary.
“He’ll be one of the best players in the world. We have to respect him as a player, but don’t forget he’s 17 years old.
“It’s not easy to compare, but lamine, in terms of quality, can make history like Leo. But of course, in order to make history, he must have a good team behind him.”
Barcelona has experience in managing a reflector that comes with nurturing a generational talent. Deco spoke about the responsibility of the club to ensure that Yamal was not flooded with external pressures.
He added, “We try not to let him do everything, because, you know, sometimes sponsors, and everyone wants his shirt or time.
“Sometimes we can’t control everything, but people see his magic, on and off the field.
“They want to have a piece of him and we have to help him manage it.”
