Antoine Griezmann agreed to a new one year extension with Atletico Madrid, committing his future to the club until June 2027.
Griezmann, who is now 34, has returned to Atletico permanently in 2022 after a seasonal loan from Barcelona.
His first spell with the Madrid side lasted from 2014 to 2019 before moving to Barca with a contract of 120 million euros.
During his stay in Atletico, Griezmann became the leading all the time with the club with 197 goals and is eighth in the club rankings of all time appearing, presented in 442 games.
His Atletico trophy includes a Spanish Super Cup, a Europa League and a Super Cup.
He also played a major role in the club run to the 2016 Champions League final, which ended with the defeat of Real Madrid.
The 2018 World Cup winner previously spoke about his desire to end his career in the United States in the end.

Speculation of a move stood fueled in August 2024, when Olivier Giroud said he was convinced that his former teammate would eventually join him in Major League, especially at LAFC.
Giroud said at the time, “One day it will surely come. It would be amazing, crazy, have it and in the team with Hugo (Lloris) after we scored for France. Playing in the same team would be crazy. I can’t imagine.”
Griezmann departed from international football in September 2024. After elimination of France in the Euro 2024 semi -finals against Spain.
In his 137 appearances for Les Bleus, he scored 44 goals, including six during the Euro 2016, where he won the Golden Boot as the top scorer of the tournament.
Last season, Griezmann scored 53 appearances in all competitions for Atletico, scoring 16 goals and securing nine assists.
