Scottie Scheffler produced an amazing late bird to use her head in the middle circle of Ben Griffin and took a single shot in the last round of the Memorial Tournament.

World no. 1, which opened on Saturday with 13 consecutive pars, blocked four of his five holes to publish a four-leaf 68 and a ticket to his first round without any condition ever in Muirfield Village.

The rapid finish was raised by Scheffler to eight below and one ahead of half-way Griffin, with the FedExcup leader now in the main position to follow his success PGA Championship with the third PGA Tour win in four starts.

Scheffler will play in the last round, along with Griffin, who briefly went five kicks in front of four consecutive goods around the turn and a lowered shot in the last left place, settled to level 72.

Canadian Nick Taylor is three shots in third place in five, with Captain Ryder Cup Keegan Bradley two more goals in the share of Jordan Spieth and Sepp Straka.

Scheffler made eight-foot and 15 feet to produce the bird finish and set the target club house, and the triple main champion then asked for a direct lead when Griffin missed with three meters to save the couple in the last.

“Around this golf course, even a couple, I think today would be a pretty solid result,” Scheffler said, wanting to defend the title after last year’s victory. “I felt like I could get a little more out of the circle, but I felt like I was playing nicely.

“Only a few lips here and there would change the result a little, but on the whole, I felt like I was doing good things. I didn’t feel like I had to change a lot.”

Taylor immediately lost the lead after the start of the tumultuous Buddhas and was five for his circle as long as the bird’s plow burst on the back of nine, lifting it to five below, while the Straka fired 66-days to jump within five of the leadership because he offered the third victory in the season.

Rickie Fowler, Patrick Cantlay and Shane Lowry divide the seventh to two below, while the challenge of Justin Rose ended after throwing his second round 66 with eight over 80 on Saturday.
