Chelsea and Newcastle United were reportedly among clubs that scouts highly rated midfielder Getafe Christanus Uche, according to Football Espana.
Tickets for the LAST MINUTE are still available for the Champions League final!
The 22-year-old shone in La Liga this season and it seems that his fine performances have attracted the interest of clubs in the Premier League.
The report suggests Chelsea has followed Uche in the pastAlthough their interest may have died a little now.
Still, the football Espan name Newcastle, Aston Villa, Bournemouth and Brentford, as other courtiers who carefully followed Uche’s progress.
This is a fairly incredibly fast rise in the Nigerian young man, who joined the Getafeu for € 500 last summer.
All in all, this looks like this summer could lead to a considerable profit for Getafe, because clubs agree to move for Uche.
As the Espana football notes, the young midfielder has a release clause in the amount of EUR 25 million in his contract, so clubs are likely to have to reconcile with it or at least approach such a character.
It will be interesting to see if some English clubs are willing to pay that kind of money for someone who is still relatively young and inexperienced.
Instead, Atletico Madrid could be one to watch to keep the player in La Liga, according to a football Espan.
Chelsea and Newcastle had good seasons, qualifying for the Champions League and picked up silver accessories.
This probably means that two clubs can target a little more than players like Uche, which would probably be such a profile to look more close at if they had found themselves in another situation.
Chelsea has invested a lot in young prospects for the future, but now they will increasingly feel that they have to deliver larger trophies as soon as possible, so that means to use the maximum of young players and improve with the more proven options where possible.
