Luke Humphories ensures that it does not “count its chickens” despite the fact that everyone on Thursday night turned another final of the Premier League between the world no. 1 and Luke Littler.
Littler and Humphries ended up on the first and second tables after regular weeks of the Premier League, setting classic matches against each other for 16 weeks.
This would also be the reproduction of the Epic 2024 finals, in which Littler hit nine Darter on the way to victory at his debut.
Despite the world no. 1 Knowing why ‘two Lukes’ are again dealing with battles, he does not overlook what will be a huge semi-final against Nathan Aspinall.
Through their careers, Humphories had better than Aspinall, winning 13 of its 21 fights, but at the biggest stages everything can happen.
“First I have to cross Nathan (Aspinall) and if I pass Nathan’s past, maybe I don’t play Little (Littler), maybe I play Gerwyn (Price),” Humphries said.
“You can’t predict anything in the darts. In the semi -final you got four great players with a darts.
“Each of us can win. All four of us can win us tomorrow.
“I think it’s a mistake if you think you will play someone in the finals before actually winning the game.
“Well, I won’t count my chickens yet before I actually became a final.”
Although Humphries would like to add a title in the Premier League to its increasing cabinet, he cares not to feel pressure.
“If I can go and win it, then I would be super happy. But I start to get to that moment in a career where I no longer put that pressure on my shoulders.
“I’m just here to enjoy and try to win as many main tournaments as possible. I just like to be involved.
“That’s what I love. To be here and be part of a special occasion like this is exactly what I live for, so I’m happy to be here.”
Nathan Aspinall goes to Night Finals as Underdog, knowing that he would have two huge matches to raise the title in a place where he dreamed of playing.
Aspinall reached the finals, but since it was in 2020, the event took place in Milton Keynes behind closed doors, ‘ASP’ lost 11-8 in the finals from Glen Durrant.
With his involvement in this year’s Premier League, he was questioned when he was announced as part of the eight players line, Aspinall proved that suspects were wrong and believed that he could take that step further with a “dream” victory that would be the best night of his life on Thursday, seeing that they were all insidious.
“I think everything I say on this topic is that PDC realized correctly,” Aspinall said.
“I have always had a belief in my own ability. The people around me always say that when I play in the Premier League, I regularly play against the best of the best. It makes my game going more and more.
“And I think that happened. Now I’m more consistent than I’ve been in the last two years.
“After 10 years, everyone always writes me and call me underdog. And, you know, I love that title.
“There is no pressure on my shoulders tomorrow. No one expects to win in the first game, let alone win the night.”
By this point, the victory in the match would be classified as the biggest victory of aspinall, but admits that he would rule top on stage O2 at the top of it.
“The match was probably the second biggest tournament in Darts,” he added.
“I think I would come through the field that I would have to go through, you know, two games I have to win tomorrow to pick up that trophy, that would definitely be there with probably the most nights of my life if I continue and win.
“So the four of us are left. It’s all on the night. I think you’ve seen these different finals all season, different winners. And I hope it’s my night tomorrow.”
