White is not chosen for family reasons, says Tuchel

England manager Thomas Tuchel says he did not choose Arsenal defender Ben White for his latest composition, because the right back will become a father for the first time.

Tuchel also confirmed that the defender of the Crystal Palace Marc Guehi has injuries, after The appointment of his team to face Andor and Senegal.

White won the latest of his four caps in England in 2022 and returned home from the World Cup that year before seeking inaccessible to selection.

But Tuchel confirmed that he is now available for selection.

He said: “Ben was involved in the last Arsenal matches, but we talked and decided that it was not a moment now, because he would quickly become a father, the child reached the exact date of the camp. It is his first child and we wish him his wife all the best.

The newly expanded club World Cup begins on June 14, and Tuchel says that he has decided not to give the players competing in that tournament, an early cut.

“I was an advocate and I could see the reason for the players going to the club’s World Cup to leave maybe leave a little earlier, to change the team. We had discussions if we might have chosen a team without a World Cup player.

“The discussion was very open. We also quickly realized that this was a very important camp for us with one year to Word Cup. Why send players if we want to nurture every day together. What signal would he send a group to send players?

“I can understand an argument from special clubs who would like to see the players rest, but we have a strong argument for ourselves and our goals we want to achieve. We build a group and fellowship. We want to develop friendship and it is only possible if we take every day seriously.
