Zak Crawley imprinted his authority on 1. The day of a one -time four -day test against Zimbabwe on Trent Bridge with a composed and liquid century that has been guided England to the dominant position.
Opening up inserted by Ben DuckettCrawley showed a quiet temperament and secured the leg operation, which Kova Mammut 231 runner to open. It was a clinical performance on a dry surface that represented a little challenge for the English top row. Duckett and Crawley initially equipped themselves with cautiously, but quickly switched to the gears to take complete control to lunch, publishing an undefeated 130-point. Duckett reached his hundred at the beginning of the second session, turning his start into a sparkling 140 of only 123 balls before he fell to 42. Crawley, who has been placed in the rhythm until then, continued to accumulate races with maturity, bringing his century during the last session of the day. On tea, England firmly firmly firmly, crossing the 300 run mark, with Ollie Pope offering constant support from the other end.
The inexperience of Zimbabwe’s bowling was naked under the bright sky and on the quiet surface of the Trent Bridge that did not offer lateral movement or bounce. The slope was dry and benign, which required precision and variations, but visiting bowlers failed to apply consistent pressure. Their lines were often enviable, and the lengths offered too many scoring options, especially through the blankets and square of WICKET. Crawley and Duckett fully used the luxury that provided the Zimbabwejci, regularly punching the terrain with elegant stroke games and maintaining a healthy scoring rate throughout the day.
There were few shows and misses, and there were no visible signs of discomfort. Duckett’s century came with a pace of running, showing the aggressive thinking of England in this new era of a red ball. In the meantime, Crawley has traditionally stepped on his inserts, reaching his century from 145 delivery, mixing patience with timely aggression. The Zimbabwe bowlers remained in search of answers, incapable of producing breakthroughs or permanent spell spells needed to challenge a quality English top order.
Crawley’s hundreds of 145 balls were not just a turning point in this special inings, but also a landmark in his growing test career. Going into this match with 2,899 runs to his name, Crawley put in an expressed style Mark of 3000 runs with his 101 ride. This was marked by his fifth century in the test crice, to go together with 16 half a century, with the entry of his importance as a support in the English order for hitting. Playing in the 54th test match, Crawley reached a turning point in his 98.
Crawley’s latest century added another feathers to his cap as he crossed the tag of 1,500 runs in home tests. In 24 matches and 41 inserts played in England, Crawley now boasts over 1500 rides on average more than 39, which is a testimony to his consistent running on famous surfaces. This was his third test century on English soil, complementing his seven -fifties. The comfort he played with on the first day spoke about his understanding of home conditions, especially on flattering paths like the one in Nottingham.

So far I’ve really enjoyed Crawley.
Changing in his attitude and technique could help him become a little more consistent on the eve of the next 10 tests in England.

Crawley’s highest result of the first insertion this summer was 5 or 6. Most county teams rejected him early. Is this bowling attack in Zimbabwe worse than the county attack? Or did the straight Wickket help him?
No matter the reason he obviously sealed his place for the rest of the summer.

Crawley always runs when they need the most. I would leave his partnership with Duckett at peace. It’s been a long time since we had a solid opening of our partnership.
Probably not since Cook and Strauss.#Exvz
