The Europa League win can help Manchester United to build a future

Ruben Amorim claimed that Manchester United would look at a different way if the Europa League final against Tottenham.

After taking over Erik Ten Hag in November, Amorim monitored most of the worst Premier League season in United history, one I can’t finish no more than 14th.

But the victory over Tottenham in Bilbao on Wednesday will save the campaign by giving United a big trophy and, which is crucial, qualifying for the Champions League in the next season.

A return to the highest table of European football would be a big impetus for United financially and would offer potential signatures an additional incentive to join the club.

Amorim, however, believes that a change in the perception of United and the feelings in the club would be the most significant consequences of the celebration of the Europa League.

He said at a press conference before the match: “People will otherwise look at our team. It can help us to build a future.

“Our club can have revenues without the Champions League. It’s a big club, a massive club, but a sense of victory can help us give us the strength we need to do every job we need.”

Despite United’s gloomy premier league form, he enjoys vocal support from fans and seemingly supporting the united hierarchy.

Asked why it seems that he is not under no pressure, he replied: “It’s strange because you have some coaches here who lose some games and they are fired … It’s hard to explain.

“I think people see what we are trying to do, I think people see that sometimes I think more about the club than to me.

“People understand, especially the committee, that we have a lot of problems that are in context really hard.”

But Amorim knows that even his first trophy as a United manager cannot explain the cracks this season even more obvious.

“There are many things we have to change,” he added.

“The way we do everything during the week in Carrington, employment, the Academy. It is difficult to point out one thing and will not get rid of the Cup win.”
