Defense duo for Miss Arsenal’s last game in Southampton

William Saliba and Jurrien Timber will miss the last game of Arsenal season in Southampton on Sunday.

Timber is undergoing ankle surgery and summer will recover.

It was a good return season for a Dutchman, who made 48 appearances after missing most of his first year on the Emirates for a ruptured front of the Cross Ligament.

Arsenal chief Mikel Arteta said Bein Sports: “You understand that he is coming back from ACL for a year, and to have this season after ACL, that’s amazing.

Saliba breaks Arsenal Record

Saliba is a key part of Arsenal’s defense that was the backbone of their runner in the Premier League and running to the Champions League semi -finals.

He was nominated for the Premier League Young Player Award after 51 appearances. He also won more games for Arsenal during his first 100 appearances for the club than anyone else with 68.

Arteta added: “We have seen his progress, his development and the standard he is currently hitting.

“When you talk about these numbers, it’s amazing. It’s so much to learn and improve, so we have a player in length, many years.”
