Today he posted on X: “Hi Evertonians, I just wanted to share this message with you that I would leave the football club at the end of the season. After five wonderful years, my time in Everton ended.
“Everton means a lot to me. Obviously it was hard in the last five years. I’ll always remember my time as a dream to play for the Everton football club. I’m obviously sad to leave the club after five wonderful years, but I think it’s time for a new chapter for me and the club and I will always be grateful for what the club did for me.
“When the opportunity came, I was very happy to sign for the club. My best memory will obviously be a goal I scored against Bournemouth to keep the club in the Premier League.
“I think it’s something I will always be proud of. It was a wonderful moment for me and my family, as well as for the club.
“I will miss fans, I will miss the football club. I just wanted to know that I did everything, every time in training and in games.”
Doucoure was visibly emotional after being replaced in Sunday’s 2-0 victory over Southampton in the last male game that will be played at Goodison Park.
He added, “I was always proud to wear a shirt. I was always proud to play at the Goodison Park.
“I gave my best to win as many games as possible. It will just miss my place and wish them all the best in the new stadium.
“Everton will always be a part of my life now. I will forever be blue, I will always support Everton and I hope it will have a bright future.”
It is rumored to be a small International Doucoure Meta for a newly promoted Leeds.
He leaves Everton together with Ashley Young, Asmir Begovic and Joao Virginia. The decision on the future of Idissa Gueye, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Michael Keane, who are also outside the contract in the summer, has not yet been announced.
