Erling Haaland warned his teammates in Manchester City that they could not look for excuses to defend their bitter disappointing season.
Although the city could still mathematically finish the campaign elsewhere, it cannot be denying that they have gone well since expectations. Many have pointed to the city battle with significant injuries as an explanation for their struggles. The winner of the D’O or Rodrje Balloon in September broke the ACL injury in the season, several central backs missed fitness problems throughout the season, and Haaland itself missed for more than a month with ankle injury, but the Norwegian international man cannot hide behind their injuries records.
“We weren’t stable enough this season and we didn’t beat enough games, that’s just that,” he continued. “We have to perform better in big games. We didn’t beat enough consecutive games.
“Of course, we had injuries throughout the season. But we should not look for excuses. Each of us was not good enough and we were not in order, so when you are not in order, you will not win the games in this country because it is so difficult.”
