Aston Villa can abuse the slipping in the Champions League football race when they will host a Tottenham side that is likely to rotate with one eye on Wednesday in the Europa League final.
The meeting on Friday is controversial, along with Chelsea’s conflict with Manchester United, to allow both Tottenham and United more time to prepare for his Europa League showcase in Bilbao next week.
Villa protested about the decision, but it is not expected that the reduced amount of rest after last Saturday will win 1-0 in Bournemouth a big difference in the outcome.
Tottenham suffered its 20th defeat in the Premier League last Sunday because Crystal Palace beat them 2-0, and manager Ange Postecoglou focused more on players who avoid injury before they will be expected to take to the Europa League final with small disabilities.
For men, una emery did it necessary.
Villa is at a point with Chelsea in the race, the first five, which would ensure the Champions League qualification for another season. They stand two points behind Manchester City in the fourth, three attention of Newcastle United in the third and five behind Arsenal in the second, with two games.
The defeat and victory of Chelsea over United, together with the city’s victory over Bournemouth on Tuesday, would basically end their hopes in qualifying with respect to their significantly inferior difference in Chelsea, City and Newcastle.
But Emery’s men were extraordinary at home all season. They did not lose in the Villa Park in the Premier League from their first home campaign game, 2-0 defeat against Arsenal on August 24.
Tottenham lost four of his last five games in league games, arresting that slide with a 1-1 draw in West Ham this month and, with the concentration of postecoglou, focused on what he described as a “balance” of playing players, but avoiding injuries ahead of the finals, the likelihood that the villas would jump into the smallest city and scallop.
Villa will not be in full force in terms of creative smell that has been obvious to Emery’s side throughout the season.
Jacob Ramsey Suspendovan was sent to Bournemouth, while Marcus Rashford touched on a lower leg injury.
Youri Tielemans is likely to miss the rest of the season due to the muscle injury that kept him outside the Bournemouth game.
Since James Maddison is already off the season and Dejan Kulusevski joined him after his knee surgery, Postecoglou will be careful to risk his big shots on the eve of the United Game.
The son of Heung-my, Richarlison and Brennan Johnson may all start in ahead, but it would be unrealistic to expect the trio to play for 90 minutes.
Lucas Bergvall is still dealing with an ankle injury in the middle of Tottenham, while Postecoglou has the decision to make whether to take the risk of Cristiano Romera and Micky Van de Ven on his back.
