Manchester City striker Erling Haaland claimed that the dramatic fall in the team in the form of this season was followed by a “lack of hunger” from the team.
While the City campaign ended in a solid form, in the middle of the season he was full of poor appearances and shock defeats, including a win of just one victory in 13 games between October and December.
A little could understand the scope CityThe fall, which Haaland claimed was reduced to the loss of “hunger” from a team that got used to winning games and abolishing trophies in the last few seasons.
“Of course, you can find excuses, injuries, many injuries in bad times, but in the end we didn’t perform well enough,” Haaland said ESPN.
“We didn’t completely have a hunger in ourselves. I wasn’t good enough. I didn’t help the team enough. In the end, we weren’t good enough.”
Haalanda comments were put to manager Pepu Guardiola on the eve of Saturday’s Premier League conflict with the lower side of Southampton. The boss admitted a surprise as he caused his players to determine why they allowed their standards to fall.
“If this is a sense of Erling, the players should talk to each other and wonder why,” he said.
“We can do better. We are happy for the results we have, but the situation is that we have to keep it long, many months. It’s only three or four weeks.”
Haaland is one of the many city players to miss the significant campaign period due to injury. The Norwegian striker has not turned out to be his side since March, but he is ready to return in the last weeks of the season.
“I feel good and I’m moving well and I’m ready,” he vowed.
