Watford released the head coach Tom Cleverley after a bad pattern recessed into their play-offs of aspirations.
Former Manchester United midfielder Cleverley was considered to be one of the brightest young coaches in the championship, but failed to stop the fall that saw Watford recorded the least points in the 2025 division.
The news of his departure did not agree well with Vicarage Road Club fans with a survey of local newspapers who discovered 95 percent of supporters who did not agree with the decision.

In a statement, sports director Gian Luca Nani said: “We thank Tom for your service – not only in the role of the main coach, but also on everything that Watford gave as a player and a member of the staff.
“But it’s time to change and build on what we believe is a young and talented team that will benefit from the experience of the championship this season.
“She was a privilege closely to work with Tom; understand how he sees the game and his enthusiasm for everyone here. She deserves to be recognized for that and I am sure that he will have a bright future in the game.
“Tom will always be part of Watford in recognition for everything he has achieved so many years.”
Cleverley took over from Valerie Ismael in March 2024 and helped them avoid relegation, eventually finished 15th.
They were in the playoffs most of this season before they saw in the last 11 games in the last 11 games to come to 14th.
The 35-year-old, who made 180 appearances for Watford as a player, was 20 different main coach who held the reins at the club since the Pozzo family took over the property of 2012.
The average life span of the main coach of Watford owned by Pozzo is 234 days.
