Ariya Jutanurn dramatically spoiled the chip in the last hole for regulation before losing in a five-day play-off while Mao Saigo won the Chevron Championship after an extraordinary end in Texas.
Jutanurn tried to rise to 18. Greenery from the adjacent rough, but the ball moved only a few inches.
She continued to suffer Bogey six to lose one shot lead, fell to seven below and crept into overtime with Saig, Hyo-Joo Kim, Routing Yin and Lindy Duncan on the first major of the season.
Yin, Duncan and Saigo all scored birds on the last greenery to reach the play-offs, but Kim missed one of her who would eventually see him winning at the time of regulation after Jutanugarna’s bizarre moment in the last.
The necessary hole for the play-offs is also filled with chaos because Yin failed to convert the eagle that would see it taking the trophy, and then saw that the next bird would look lips.
After Jutanurn and Kim ran their birds, Saigo – who kept kos -lider going into the final round, but then shot two Over 74 – he exhausted hers to secure her maiden victory on the LPGA tour, after six at the LPGA, Japan Tour, was the main one.
Jutanurn was in touch with the third major and the first in seven years, after open open to women in 2016 and 2018, only for her late mistake – when the nerves may have settled for a player who did not win the event of 2021. – to cost her.
The 29-year-old made two birds and an eagle over her first eight holes to open the lead with two hits before her Bogeys placed her back at nine and 13, although in accordance with the number of parties, which kept her in control, while many of her rivals, including Saiga and Yin, tormented her.
Duncan registered consecutive birds at the age of 13 and 14 to earn a stake in the eight floor leadership, only to record consecutive Bogeys at 15 and 16, as it seemed to have evaporated her hopes in Major Major.
Jutanugarn’s alas at 18 released Duncan, and the American had an eagle with off the Green to win the title, just to slide on a hole and leave a tickling Putt bird to force himself in the play-off.
Duncan made a beetle in extension.
Defense champion and World No 1 Nelly Korde finished 14th on two under the hope that she would return to her back mostly destroyed on the day of the opening when she shot five-over 77, but also stifled the consecutive double gods on her back during her third round.
KORDA – Just having won the event this season after seven wins in 2024 – in the last day she carted two below 70.
Lexi Thompson’s offer for the second big title-first title since she entered the semi-umorement-she was silent while she shot four-over 76 after she started six under the couple and three shots with 54 hole leaders Saigo and Hae -ran Ryu.
