Enzo Maresca welcomed Robert Sanchez after the Chelsea goalkeeper removed a series of savings late, as Blues ran the winners 1-0 over Everton at Stamford Bridge.
Nicolas Jackson scored his first hit 2025 to end drought in 13 games and ensure that Chelsea’s hopes would secure the top-five finish, and the Champions League place remained very alive.
Three points raised Men Bresca to the fourth – at least temporary – but the contribution of Sanchez was the Chelsea chief set aside praise after the victory.
“(I’m very happy. He is (Sanchez) deserving of being honest, because he probably received some criticism that is not good in the last weeks.
“You can see how the teammates celebrated with him after that because he deserved it.”
“What a savings!” 😳
This stopping from Robert Sánchez could be the matches of the moment 👏

Chelsea is next in action on Thursday when they travel to Stockholm to take over Djurgarden in the first leg of the Europa Conference Conference.
And while remaining solid favorites to raise the trophy, Maresca was a focus at securing a place in the European elite club competition in the next term.
“Three points at this stage of the season are very important.
“The performance (against Everton) I think we dominated the first half, we created a chance, we did not admit anything.
“The second half, we dropped a little, but it was part of the game. We defended ourselves well when we were supposed to defend ourselves. And we got pretty well when we needed to attack.
“So, overall, it was a good game, three points, and we’re happy.
“Four game games. I play by game. I said many times before, when you win the game, you see yourself there and are happy. If you don’t win, you don’t see yourself there and you’re upset.
“So we manage emotion to the end. It is important that we are there.”
