Chelsea Bossca insists that Palmer’s goal drought is ‘Mental Thing’

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca believes that the recent Cole Palmer drive is “Mental Thing” on the eve of Everton’s visit to Stamford Bridge in the Premier League on Saturday.

Palmer failed to find the net in the last 16 games, after a record of 14 goals in his first 23 games in the season.

Palmer, still only 22 years old, has become some of the Talisman at Stamford Bridge, and his manager insists that the infertile magic of England International is in front of the goal nothing else to trust.

“It’s certainly a mental thing, it’s not tactical or technical,” Maresca said.

“Cole is still a player who scored 14 goals in 20 games. The style is the same, the manager is the same, the club is. Nothing has changed around Cole. At this point, it’s just mental.

“You can see that he’s a little worried because he wants to help the team. You can see that he is struggling a little on it. But he showed how happy he is after Fulham. That’s just a matter (if we can win games. He’ll surely score goals.

“If you get back to the game, he had at least every game one or two chances, so it’s not about how the team plays.”
