James Forrest will become a Celtic’s most pronounced player when he wins the Scottish title of the Premiership, and the wing player aiming at more “amazing” moments with the club.
The 33-year-old has won 25 major honors with the hoops since he made his debut in 2010 and will move in front of Lisbon Lion Bobby Lennox if he helps win another trophy for his boyish club.
Forrest scored his first Celtics game against Motherwell before entering the network in 522 appearances.
“It’s something when you’re going through that you don’t think,” he said Sky Sports News.
“Sometimes people try to ask you what your favorite is, but there have been so good over the years.
“You want to turn it into the first team, you want to play as many games as possible and win trophies and be a part of such a successful team.
“It’s a team game, but personal recognitions are also beautiful. It’s just a small part of success over the years with Celtic.
“You see all the names there and the amount of great players playing for this club, that’s amazing.”
Scotland International played under Neil Lennon, Ronny Deil, Ange Postecoglou and Brendan Rodgers during his 15 seasons and insists that he still doesn’t think about lowering boots.
“I’ve played here so many times and still enjoy how much I always. I’ll just try to be here as much as I can,” he added.
“I’m not exactly one for my career that I think I want to do it or I want to do it. I just try and enjoy every day at the moment.
“The amount of highlights I had over the years was amazing. I just want to continue working hard to, I hope a few more of them will come.”
Forrest returned to the action last month after taking an injury in the final victory of Celtic’s League Cup against Rangers in December and hopes to find a net to achieve another milestone in 16 different seasons.
“It’s one that I and several people talked about,” he said.
“In my position, I want to do so. I hope I can score a goal in the next few games.
“I think any football player you are talking to will tell you that the worst part is injured.
“I had a bad injury, so I was out for a while, but I think it’s great to have such a good team and staff around you and spend you through it.
“I really enjoyed the last four games, returning to participation and just wanted to finish the season strongly and help the team as possible.”
