Michael Van Gerwen returned to victory with a victory at Elten Safety Shoes German Darts Grand Prix on Monday, beating his compatriot Gian Van Veen to win a record 38th European tour in Munich.
The recent Dutch struggles are well documented, but he has reaffirmed his sensational style credentials to ask for the Grand Prix of the Fourth German Picade, beating Van Veen 8-5 in the finals, while pushing three straight legs of 5-5 to reject a sensational tournament.
Surviving three matches in his introductory victory over Kim Huybrechts on Sunday, Van Gerwen achieved perfection in the last 16 equalization against Ryan Searle, an average of 104 on the way to success 6-1.
The 35-year-old then made a flawless display on the outer ring to beat Ryan Joyce in the last eight, before he tickled five straight legs to close the semi-final victory of 7-2 against Josh Rock.
This set up a showdown against the World Youth Champion Veno in the repetition of last September of Hungarian, Darts Trophy, and Van Gerwen went out to the top again.
Littler Littler was knocked out in the semifinals after falling to a 7-4 defeat against the finalists outside the evening.
In the last day of the competition, Littler beat Joe Cullen, in the last day of the competition, attaching a magical 170 on the way to a 6-3 victory and a close encounter with Peter Wright in the quarterfinals, winning 6-5.
The world champion took off to social media to draw his frustration in the tournament, saying, “Shouldn’t you (not) in Munich, but still have to play. The next one in Germany for me is Dortmund and I am glad to say that.”
Comes for days after Gerwyn Pricea Slummed last week’s night in the Premier League in Rotterdam As “pointless”, claiming that “the arrows were blowing everywhere” because of the draft.
“That definitely means a lot to me,” said the world not 3. “We all know where I come from. I’ve been struggling with my own battles lately. I’ve been playing bad for the last few weeks, I didn’t do what I could and I know I got it in myself, but you want to show it week to week.
“With pressure on me all the time, sometimes I’m annoying about it, but I also put pressure on myself.
“To me, win this tournament means the world.”
He added, “If you look at my average tournament and the way I played all the tournament, I think it was great. Of course in the finals, there is pressure on my shoulders, but to do so and win here in Munich, people have no idea. That means the world.
“I needed this. I really needed it.”
Van Gerwen, who is currently sitting in front of the playoffs in the Premier League, said: “He will probably give me confidence because I am in a difficult position in the Premier League. I did it difficult for myself, but everyone who knows me knows that I will never give up. I always fight, I always fight, that is what you need.
“Full gas!”
Van Veen failed to lower his first European tour only two days before celebrating his 23rd birthday, although the Dutchman performed wonderfully during the weekend in Munich.
“I had a phenomenal three days,” insisted Van Veen, who rises in the world in the world no. 23.
“None of us played his best game in the finals. I played well on my own feet, but on Michael’s throw I didn’t perform, and he was a well -deserved winner.
“I’m a little pushed to lose, but I’m really pleased with another place and I hope my first European tour title will arrive soon!”
After an exciting three days in Munich, the European Tour of PDC continues next weekend, as the Premstattner Halle in Graz plays the host of the Austrian Darts Open from 25 to 27 April.
