Liam Cameron (23-7-1, 10 ko) headed for a high road by not deciding to complain about the quick loss of anyone in the second round against the light heavyweight category Ben Whittaker (9-0-1, 6 Kos) in their rematch at The Resorts World Arena in Birmingham, England.
Cameron, 34, showed his class criticizing the Howard Foster Judge for stopping the fight in the second round after Whittaker rushed. Nothing significantly landed Ben who led to stopping, but Foster decided to wave it.
Social media fans baked a judge, saying it was a classic British stop. Cameron was not outraged at the end. After the fight he mentioned that “earned a wealth ” In a rematch tonight with a life -changing money.
Morrell comparison
2020. The Whittaker Silver Medal, 27, is too old to fight at this level, and it becomes clear that it will not be drawn in professional ranks. Is the same year as the former world champion in two divisions David MorrellBut they still hold him to the wheel training. Morrell did not fight at the Olympics, but developed more skills than Ben in the Cuban national team. They brought him faster.
Whittaker -O’s promoter must understand what to do with him, because he seems to require protection similar to that Hamzah Sheeraz. He misses this spark that would indicate that he can fight the world class opposition.
“He beat himself up from a better man. He was an Olympic silver medal. I gave him a hard time in Saudi. I thought I could do it again. He went and got a professional team and returned stronger. Bravo was done,” said Liam Cameron Boxing King MediaTalking about his loss to Ben Whittaker tonight.
Cameron could re -examine his praise Whittaker after looking at the reprise to see that she had never received a chance because of his early stop. That struggle was to be allowed to continue, instead of stopped by a judge, Foster.
“He’s tall and sharp,” Cameron said when asked if he would expect Ben to get out tonight. “Because I’m a popular guy, it doesn’t make me win in the fight, but I will forever take it to the grave. It’s a box. In one, two, three fights, they (fans) could love him (Whittaker) after a little. It will be one switch as with me.”
The only way that fans will begin to like Whittaker is if his struggles stop ending in controversy, and if he wins the highest level guys in 175 instead of choosing a 168 -pound fighter. If Ben wants fans to love him, he should fight David Morrel or David Benavidez and prove that he can beat them. I wouldn’t give Whittaker the opportunity against any of these guys, but if he at least tried, you could respect it.
“It just happened. The fight happened that way,” Cameron said of his loss. “Look where I am. I don’t like to say that, but I made absolute wealth. It’s not for me. It’s for my children. It’s all for me. I never thought I would earn what I earned tonight.
“I put everything in that. I had strength and fitness. We did everything perfectly. You could say that he wanted the crowd to like him,” Cameron said of Whittaker. “He has to understand it and bring them back.”
