Manchester United allegedly runs the race to sign the Ipswich Town striker Liama Delap, surpassing Rivale Chelsea and Newcastle United, states Football insider.
The 22-year-old striker attracted significant attention after an impressive season, scoring 12 goals and providing two assists in 32 Premier League appearances, despite Ipswich fighting near the bottom of the table.
The key factor of United’s search is the promise of manager Ruben amorious to offer the first team football football.
Former Mick Brown’s main reconnaissance pointed out that Amorim’s guarantee of the initial role could be central to the reassure of Delap to choose Old Trafford over other courtiers.
“Delap is on many club lists,” Brown said Football Insider.
“I’m not really sure he will convince him by moving to Chelsea.
“There was a lot of talk about him in Man United, and if you are a delap, you can see that United team and feel confident that you can make your mark there.
“The options they currently have are not good enough, so amorim can promise him he will get regular minutes as their initial striker.
“I don’t think he can do it in Chelsea, Newcastle or any other upper side.
“They have signed a lot of players who can’t get into the team or haven’t played enough – Delap doesn’t want to become another of them.
“He has to go somewhere where he will play, and he knows he will play in United.”
Delap’s contract includes a clause on an issue that should fall to £ 40m if Ipswich rejected, a scenario that seems more likely.
This clause has increased interest from the best clubs, and Chelsea is also in charge of the young striker.
Delap is said to be a priority to the club that offers European football, with the aim of increasing its chances of making England team for the 2026 World Cup.
Although the current position of United is beyond European qualifying places, winning the Europa League could secure its place in the continental competition next season.
Journalist Samuel Luckhurst reported That the Red Devils want to sign a new striker and a new goalkeeper in a summer transition window.
