Antony claimed that things in his personal life “became on the way” to find his best form while in Manchester United.
The Brazilian, currently on loan in Real Betis by the end of the season, fought during his magic at Old Trafford, not managing to produce the same levels of performance that United have encouraged to pay Ajax 86 million pounds for his services in August 2022.
Only 12 goals and five assists in 96 games for the Red Devil have contributed to the wing, and his time in the 20-plow of the Premier League champion is further interfered with accusations of abuse, both in the UK and in Brazil.
Antony admits that he has disturbed him in football and says he surrendered in Betis: ‘I am not unleak’

He allowed him the absence of United in September 2023, returning a month later. And Antony says police investigations have adversely influenced his field appearances, but the 25-year-old remains secured by his abilities.
“I think, besides my football life, my personal life on the way, because of the things I have gone through, is the moments I lived there.” Antony said ESPN Brasil.
“I like it or not, it affected me a lot. So, of course, I know the potential I have.
“It’s nothing I went to the World Cup, it’s not for me to sell United for a lot of money and I know my value.
“People look at a moment, but they don’t look at a bigger picture, what’s going on with things. So, as I said, my feeling in United was that I had good moments, and bad moments, but of course I could have done more, I could have better.”
Antony also praised the role of former United chief Erik Ten Hag played his career and insists that he has no bad feeling despite limited occasions during the term of the Dutch manager in England.
“Erik Ten Hag is a coach where I am very grateful,” Antony said.
“He helped me a lot in the Netherlands, and in England, although the possibilities did not come the way I wanted.
“But it’s a coach’s choice, I don’t hold any crowds or anything. On the contrary, I am very grateful for everything he has done with me, and for all the conversations.
“He’s a coach who will surely be in this story because he helped me a lot.”
Antony’s form was drastically improved during his short stay in Spain, and earlier this month Betis Boss Manuel Pellegrini said he hoped to extend the player’s stay at the club.
Betis is currently sixth in La Liga, and on Thursday he reached the European Conference League semi -finals, where he will face Fiorentina.
It is unlikely that the striker will return to United this summer, but Antony was free of charge for Ruben Amorim, calling the Portuguese coach “very intelligent”.
Antony added: “United is going through a difficult time right now, but he is a good coach. I had a good relationship with him, but I needed a new challenge and I wish him all the happiness in the world in this last part of the season.”
