I am writing this column as I fly back to London from Madrid and it is honest to summarize how I feel after last night’s events in Bernabeu.
It simply does not become bigger than what Arsenal did at home of 15 European Championships. They have come from years before our eyes. It was just very, very special to testify.
Declan rice was phenomenal over two legs.
This was a good 180 -minute performance as you will see from players On the biggest stage.
He obviously received a lot of praise after free kicks in the first part, rightly, but the performance he produced in Bernabeu was as good as it received.
He was a coloss at the heart of the midfielder. I don’t think there was a single blade of grass on that ground that he did not cover.
It was a tireless screen. Performance for the age of the biggest stages of Arsenal’s man of £ 105m.
It didn’t matter who he was against, no one could get closer.
He was everywhere everywhere, from breaking the attack in Madrid at one end to the ride of Arsenal towards the other.
You can’t really single out one thing when it comes to his performance and that’s what makes him so special. He simply pointed out everything you need or want from a midfielder.

Jude Bellingham couldn’t handle Declan Rice – and it showed that
You could see how frustrated by Jude Bellingham for all this. Like all the best players, Bellingham obviously has an ego, you can see that by the way he plays and be fair. He feeds.
But his ego was obviously insidious by the way Rice monstrously monstrously monstrous over two legs.
There was only one midfielder of the English star on the Emirates and on the Bernabeu, and it is certainly not Bellingham.
It was a difficult start to the season for rice. Like most players who were in Euros and entered deep into the competition, he struggled that he really hit his upper form during the introductory months of the campaign.
But now it’s there and has been in the last few months.
Very few major signings of money meet its prices. You just have to look at the biggest transfers in football history to see it.
Prices are much harder for the majority, but not on the rice.
“Declan Rice, we got half the price,” is a song that fans of Arsenal sing. It is very difficult to discuss it.
