‘We want to be in the Champions League’

Assistant manager Newcastle, Jason Tindall, says the club enjoys returning to the Champions League after overpaging a top 5-0 victory at home in Crystal Palace, raising Magpies to third place in the Premier League table.

Tindall said, “Everyone in the Premier League wants to be in the Champions League.

“We experienced it before and we want more. We have six finals left and we have to stay focused so that we can get there and give performances that we know will help us get the Champions League.

“We are convinced that we had a good range of results and we have to stay at a level and work hard every day to get out and make performances.”

The place in the Champions League looks a good bet for Magpies, which are five points ahead of Chelsea in the sixth.

After winning Carabao Cup, he promises to be an unforgettable year for those in black and white.

“That trophy gave us huge confidence. We came out and separated the appearance against probably one of the best teams in Europe in Liverpool,” Tindall added.

“We were able to enjoy the period in this, but we knew what our goals were by the end of the season – to finish as high as high in the league table. The manager always leads and sets the example of never turning off. They went outside, they were really consistent and delivered performances.

“I think at this time the most important thing is your health, that you are resting and recovering. We want Eddie all the best and the more you can rest, he will return sooner.”
