Fulham replaced the wrong player, says manager Silva

Fulham boss Marco Silva blamed “Lack of Communication” because he confirmed that Ryan Sessnon was wrongly replaced during his part 1-0 Premier League defeat in Bournemouth.

The bizarre moment came in the 57th minute, and Fulham laged behind the goal of Antoine Semenyo’s first minute.

Sessegnon replaced Adam Traore in the middle of a confusion on a touch line.

After Judge Michael Oliver came to talk to the fourth officer Tim Robinson, Silva said he was prevented from correcting the mistake.

“It was a lack of communication with the fourth clerk, from our staff,” said Silva, who suggested that he wanted to withdraw Sasu Lukic, not Sessegnon.

“We had plenty of time to correct. When I saw Sessegnon, I tried to correct it. He (fourth official Robinson) decided not to let it correct it.”

Silva was prolonged by dissatisfaction with the officials because he felt that the Bournemouth defender Marcos Senes should have been discarded in the 44th minute when he was shown a yellow card for challenging to bang to Joachim Andersen.

The Senesi then replaced Illia Zabarnyi for the second half.

“It (replacement) showed that they (Bournemouth) understood what we realized, that it was a mistake from the judge, it was a mistake from VAR,” Silva said.

“And of course, they performed the player because they knew it would be sooner or later, probably a player who would be outside (sent).

“Probably if I’m in the same position as they do, I’ll do the same because it was clear. If you see the subcutorian Joachim, that’s clear.”

Silva attracted a “messy” start to donate out of the Bournemouth initiative.

Semenyo took advantage of Captain Cottagers’ mistake Antonee Robinson to ask for his tenth goal of the season, while Sessnon lost the best opportunity to equalize.

“We are very disappointed with the result and not getting anything from this game,” Silva added.

“We were a messy way we received the first goal. We gave them a reinforcement that they needed after six games without victory.”
